It’s quite a frightening thought but I have now been in the golf industry for over 26 years! My career started in a busy club repair shop in London and it was there I started making persimmon woods. Starting with a raw block, the head was shaped, the hosel drilled, sole plate and insert cut and then finished - a little different to the technology-rich game we have today!
When I first started I was lucky enough to work with Peter Simmonds and Eddie Whitcombe, both true club making masters. Golf clubs have always been a passion of mine and over the years I have enjoyed helping thousands of golfers enjoy their golf and achieve their goals.
I started playing golf when I was 8 years of age at Romford Golf Club in Essex. I represented the club from the age of 14 and represented Essex County at both full and colt level from the age of 15. I decided to turn professional at the age of 21 (one handicap) and became a fully qualified P.G.A. Golf Professional at the age of 24. I have been at Hylands Golf Complex since it’s opening in 1997.
